The War Of The Worlds

Nostalgic Movie Trivia... None of the original Martian war machines from "The War Of The Worlds" exist today. They were made out of copper, and after the movie production was done, they were reportedly donated to a Boy Scout copper drive.

H.G. Well's classic novel is brought to life is this tale of alien invasion. The residents of a small town in California are excited when a flaming meteor lands in the hills. Their joy is tempered somewhat when they discover that it has passengers who are not very friendly. The movie itself is understood better when you consider that it was made at the height of the Cold War--just replace the Martian's with the Russian's.

Nostalgic History... Batman first appeared in Detective comics number 27. It was printed in May of 1939. Over the years Batman had many different villans face him but none as special as Catwoman. In both the Movies and on Television she was portrayed by many famous actresses. Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, Eartha Kitt, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Halle Berry. Who do you think was the best Catwoman?

The Adventures Of Superman

Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, The Adventures of Superman always fought for truth justice and the American Way. This Nostalgic Television Series ran from 1952 -... 1958. Starring George Reeves, Noel Neill, John Hamilton, and Jack Larson. It's one of our favorite Television Shows and can still be seen in sindication somewhere in the world today. Do you remember watching the series ?

The Better Batgirl ?

The Legend Ends but the Dark Knight Rises.
It's coming this summer to a theater by you.
Due to the different age groups of Batman fans out there, our question today is... Who was the better Batgirl ? Alicia Silverstone or Yvonne Craig ?

Yvonne Craig played Batgirl in the 1966 Television Series.

Alicia Silverstone played Batgirl in the 1997 Movie Batman and Robin.

Both were good portrails of Batgirl however it seems that everyone has their favorite.
Who was yours ?

Eldorado

Eldorado was released in 1966. It is the story of  Cole Thornton (John Wayne) a gunfighter for hire who joins forces with an old friend Sheriff J.P. Hara (Robert Mitchum). Together with an old Indian fighter and a gambler they help a rancher and his family fight a rival rancher that is trying to steal their water. It is an excelent John Wayne film and one of my favorite westerns.

Across The Pacific

Across The Pacific

Across The Pacific was released in 1942. It's the story about Rick Leland who makes no secret of the fact that he has no loyalty to his home country after he's court-marshaled out of the army. Rick then boards a Japanese ship for the Orient in late 1941. But has Rick really been booted out, or is there some other motive for his getting close to fellow passenger Doctor Lorenz? Rick's motive for getting close to attractive traveller Alberta Marlow would however seem pretty obvious.
